You will travel through beautiful scenery to Thingvellir National Park during this express tour. Thingvellir is one of the most exciting geology places on Earth and a place of rich history. It is where the first Icelandic Parliament, Alþingi, was founded in 930. The Eurasian and North American tectonic plates have been shifting apart, forming a stunning rift through Þingvellir. This one is definitely on the top of the list while visiting Iceland!
Next on our agenda is another natural miracle - the Geysir geothermal area. Geysir, which gave the English name "geyser" to describe this phenomenon, is one of the most visited places in Iceland. The boiling water erupts to 25-40 meters high every 8-10 minutes. Watching the geyser erupt is an incredible view at any moment.
Another attraction on our agenda is the wonderful Gullfoss, the most famous waterfall in Iceland. The water is forced through the canyon, dropping 32 meters in two stages. The river that feeds this powerful waterfall is Hvítá, originating from the Langjökull glacier.
The final highlight of the tour is Kerid Crater Lake. It's a 3000-year-old spot 55 meters deep and most recognized for its beauty – aquamarine-colored water surrounded by red rocks and greenery. This color scheme is what makes the lake look like a giant eye from above. For this reason, it's called "The Eye of the World."
