FAQ

Thingvellir National Park

We’ll start our sightseeing with a bang - Thingvellir National Park. Enjoy the thrill of walking through a gap between two tectonic plates, Eurasian and North American. Here, hundreds of years ago, Vikings formed the oldest parliament in the world - Althing. This fact alone makes it a cultural, geological, and historical site for Icelanders. Additionally, it’s beloved by nature lovers and visited by tourists from around the world.

Gullfoss Waterfall

Next up are the beautiful Gullfoss cascades. The 104-foot (32-meter) high waterfall is fed by meltwater from Langjökull. It is surrounded by a canyon. The views and roaring sounds create a hypnotic experience. Some people gave it a fitting nickname - Mini Niagara Falls. Your expert guide will share stories and legends about the waterfall and even take you to the best viewpoints. Get so close to the falls that you’ll feel the mist on your face!

Geysir Geothermal Area

Ever wonder where the word "geyser" comes from? Right here! Our third stop is the Geysir Geothermal Area. It houses the famous Great Geysir, the namesake behind all other geysers. While it no longer shoots up hundreds of feet like it used to, its weaker cousin, Strokkur, still does. Its eruptions shoot the waters up 65.6 feet (15 to 20 meters). And since it explodes every 4 to 10 minutes, you’ll get many chances to get some photos.

Kerið Volcanic Crater

Now for something different—Kerið Crater, a massive volcanic crater bowl that’s about 6,500 years old. It now houses a lake of rainwater that is as blue as the sky. Depending on the weather, it could be between 23 and 46 feet (7 to 14 meters) deep. The lake contrasts perfectly with the red volcanic rock around it. You can either walk the rim for a panoramic view or head down to the water’s edge for a closer look. Either way, it’s a sight you won’t forget!

Sky Lagoon

After all that sightseeing, we’ll relax in Sky Lagoon. And what a location this is! It’s a hot spring at the tip of Kópavogur with a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. What makes it special is the 7-step ritual, which draws inspiration from Icelandic traditions. It starts with a soak in warm water and a cold plunge. Next, you’ll sit in a sauna, enjoying the view in front of you, before cooling off in a mist. Then you get scrubbed down with salt, relax in a steam room, and end it with a warm shower.

After this cultural experience, we’ll drop you off at your locations in Reykjavik. And with the farewells, our journey ends on a very happy note!
